Hey friends! May is shaping up to be one of those memorable months on the Central Coast where you can’t possibly do it all — but that won’t stop us from trying! The hills are still green, the wine is flowing, and the event calendar is stacked. From Paso to Santa Barbara, there’s a lineup of concerts, festivals, rodeos, and horse shows that’ll have your calendar full and your weekends booked. And the best part? You don’t have to worry about the drive. Whether you're sipping wine with the lions, rocking out at the Bowl, or watching local rodeo stars do their thing, SLO Safe Ride has your transportation covered. Here’s what’s happening and how you can ride in style:
1. May 3rd: Roar & Pour at the Santa Barbara Zoo | 5–8 PM
Where coastal charm meets wild adventure (and wine).
The Santa Barbara Zoo’s annual Roar & Pour event is one of the most unique wine tasting experiences in California. Picture this: you're strolling through the zoo, wine glass in hand, surrounded by giraffes, flamingos, and panoramic ocean views. With over 20 local wineries and breweries pouring tastings, delicious bites, and live music to set the mood, this is not your average Saturday night.

This is a 21+ event and it sells out fast. If you’re coming from SLO, Santa Maria, or Paso Robles, why not ride down in a luxury Sprinter or SUV? No designated driver needed — just good company and a smooth ride home.
Let us be your designated driver so you can fully enjoy this wild night out.
2. May 7 & 8 — TINA: The Tina Turner Musical, Cal Poly PAC 7:30 PM
This electrifying Broadway show brings the music, energy, and life story of the iconic Tina Turner to the stage at the beautiful Cal Poly Performing Arts Center. With powerhouse performances and all the hits — “River Deep,” “Proud Mary,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It” — this show is more than a musical; it’s a tribute to resilience and raw talent.

Simply the best night of your life, guaranteed.
I’m telling you — the music, the energy, the sequins! Whether you grew up dancing to "Proud Mary" or just love a good comeback story, you’ll be singing all the way home. Make it a full night out in SLO: grab dinner in downtown, catch the show, and ride home in comfort with our black car or group shuttle service — we’ll drop you off at the door and pick you up after the final standing ovation.
3. May 9 & 10 — SLO Sheriff’s Rodeo & Concert | Paso Robles Event Center
Back for another year, the SLO County Sheriff's Rodeo is more than just barrel racing and bronc riding — it’s a celebration of community, courage, and country music. Whether you're tailgating or toting kids, we’ve got the right ride for your rodeo night.
4. May 9 — Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Granada Theatre, Santa Barbara | 7:30 PM
If you’ve never experienced the LA Philharmonic live, now’s your chance. Under the gilded ceiling of the Granada Theatre, this performance promises sweeping classical sound, stirring solos, and a truly elevated cultural experience. It’s the kind of night that calls for a little extra elegance.

An evening of world-class music in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.
Think rich orchestral vibe, velvet seats, and that classic SB elegance. Treat yourself — and someone special — to a stress-free drive down the coast. Our black car service makes the night feel like an event before the music even begins.
Book a private ride and make your night at the Granada as refined as the music.
